About Us
Our History and Mission
Social Delivery was founded in 2018 by Tomer Shemesh and Raanan Dinur. It was established out of a deep commitment to bridging the gap between surplus consumer goods, such as clothing, cleaning products, mattresses, and furniture, that would otherwise go to waste, and NGOs and vulnerable communities that lack access to these essential resources.
We partner with over 200 businesses, collecting surplus items from leading retailers and companies and storing them in three strategically located warehouses across Israel. These goods are then distributed to nonprofits, municipalities, and low-income communities. Our professional logistics team carefully assesses needs and matches donated items accordingly, ensuring efficient, timely, and meaningful distribution.
Social Delivery's sustainability approach centers on rescuing consumer goods destined for landfills. By extending product lifespans, we prevent waste, reduce carbon emissions, and generate a positive environmental impact. Since our founding, we have saved 7,500 tons of items worth $74 million, delivering essential goods to communities in need.
Social Delivery responds swiftly in times of emergency, acting as a vital supplier of humanitarian aid. During crises such as natural disasters, community displacements, or urgent shortages, we rapidly coordinate with businesses and nonprofits to provide essential goods to affected populations. By supporting social causes, diverting surplus goods from landfills, and offering businesses responsible alternatives for excess inventory, we maximize our positive impact on both communities and the environment.

Tomer Shemesh
CEO of Social Delivery
Tomer Shemesh has an extensive track record of social impact work. Even when he worked as a farmer growing dates in the Jordan Valley, it was within the framework of establishing a mission-driven educators’ kibbutz. Tomer then managed one of Israel’s first medical cannabis farms, worked with human rights organizations, served as Operations Manager for the agricultural division at Leket Israel, and founded Israel’s leading “Junkia” community dedicated to rescuing equipment discarded on the street. Tomer is an active member of the international ROI Community of the Schusterman Foundation and continues to serve as a board member of several social organizations, as well as an organizational consultant to CEOs and entrepreneurs. In addition to his social initiatives, Tomer is also an artist who creates unique, inspiring artworks from recycled materials. Tomer holds an Honorary Fellowship from Ruppin Academic Center, awarded for “creative and groundbreaking social activism, for striving to make the world a better and more just place, and for advancing the integration of support for vulnerable communities with forward-thinking approaches to sustainability and the circular economy.”
Tomer brings decades of experience in surplus recovery and reuse. Since childhood, he and his grandfather would collect discarded items from the street and transform them into new objects. To this day, Tomer remains deeply committed to his passion of “reviving” items that others have thrown away, turning what many see as waste into a sustainable resource.
Raanan Dinur
Chair of the Board of Directors and Co-Founder
Raanan Dinur is a senior executive with extensive experience across the public, governmental, business, and social sectors. Following his military service, he was appointed CEO of Telad, where he established the company’s original content production for television and film in Israel and internationally. After 7 years at Telad, Raanan worked on developing mathematics and science learning systems for educational institutions in North America. Following a decade in the business sector, he transitioned to the public sector (1991–2009), where he held several senior leadership roles. During this period, he specialized in improving public services through innovative organizational reforms and cross-sector collaborations. Since 2009, Raanan has divided his time between the business sector, primarily in logistics management, and the nonprofit sector. He currently serves as chair of several organizations, including Social Delivery. Raanan holds an MA degree in Public Administration and Public Policy.
Raanan served for 13 years in the Israel Defense Forces, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After completing his military service, he held a number of senior roles in both the business and public sectors, including Director General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor (now the Ministry of Economy and Industry) and Director General of the Jerusalem Municipality. Between 2006 and 2009, he served as Director General of the Prime Minister's Office. Raanan is widely recognized for his expertise in cross-sector partnerships, which he places at the forefront of advancing the mission of Social Delivery.

Omry Gelber
VP
Omry Gelber brings a strong business-sector background to Social Delivery, where he is responsible for the organization’s day-to-day operations, as well as building the foundation for its growth and expansion. He holds both a BA and an MA in Business Administration and Information Systems, and has held a range of roles in the high-tech industry, working with Israeli and U.S.-based companies.
With strong experience in managing complex projects and developing tech systems, Omry brings practical business and technical expertise to improve processes and introduce smarter tools and innovative methodologies across the organization.
Alongside his professional work, Omry creates and hosts an educational podcast for children about nature and sustainability. He also volunteers to support environmental causes and shared society initiatives. Omry is married to Noa, a father of three, and lives in Yad Hana in the Hefer Valley.
Medi Nahmiyaz Baruh
Director of Resource Development and Partnerships
Medi Nahmiyaz Baruh has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, working in various roles with a focus on resource development since 2017. She holds a BA in Political Science and Photography from Hiram College, Ohio, and an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Medi is passionate about transforming social vision into reality by strategically connecting organizations with the resources they need to thrive. Prior to joining Social Delivery, she was Director of Resource Development at the Counseling Center for Women and Project Director at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute. At Social Delivery, Medi leads all facets of resource development and works to build long-term partnerships with foundations, federations, and key stakeholders.

Talia Paloge
Project Manager
Talia Paloge leads the education field at Social Delivery, bringing extensive academic and professional experience in education, management, and social impact. Her previous roles include managing the international school on the island of Lesbos, Greece, serving asylum seekers, and leading the social impact track of the Rothschild Ambassadors Program by Edmond de Rothschild Partnerships. In that role, she managed an internship network spanning over 150 organizations and supported hundreds of students in their personal and professional development.
Talia holds a BA in Special Education and Social Education from Tel-Hai College, and an MA in Educational Counseling, along with a teaching certificate in Psychology and Sociology, from the University of Haifa.
At Social Delivery, Talia leads key projects, including a program supporting the recovery and development of communities in Israel’s north and south affected by the war. As part of her role, she focuses on building and maintaining strong partnerships with local communities, while also developing measurement frameworks to ensure projects are effective and sustainable over time.
Oran Kagan
Logistics Manager
Oran Kagan is a logistics center operations specialist. In the past, he was a partner in a human resources company focused on logistics centers. This experience gave him a deep, hands-on understanding of the field’s needs and day-to-day operations.
At Social Delivery, Oran is responsible for coordinating the logistics of incoming equipment donations. His work includes assessing incoming items, understanding needs on the ground, managing inventory checks, identifying logistical gaps, and finding practical solutions for different types of items’ collection. He also leads the recruitment and management of field teams, including training and ongoing professional support. Oran and his team can often be found on-site at partner organizations, collecting and handling donated goods.

Amir Itzhayk Bar Ilan
Warehouse Manager
Amir Itzhayk Bar Ilan manages the warehouse at the logistics center in Kibbutz Mishmarot. He is responsible for overseeing donated inventory, recording incoming items, and ensuring everything is stored in an organized and well-maintained environment.
Amir handles the preparation and coordination of shipments, making sure donated equipment reaches nonprofits and organizations efficiently. Beyond logistics, Amir also looks after the wellbeing of the warehouse team, providing guidance on proper physical work practices, as he is a certified Feldenkrais practitioner.
Volunteering
Social Delivery relies on dedicated volunteers who sort equipment, pack items, and prepare boxes for shipment. Our volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds, including companies, community groups, students, and international Taglit or mission groups.
All volunteers receive specialized training and insurance coverage.
